MBOA is a non-profit association dedicated to promoting public health and safety in building construction by providing information about legislation and building code development through training and event based learning opportunities for its members.
In keeping with our mandate to educate, train and promote the building construction industry we established semi annual seminars and an annual trade show. Our association sees the importance of providing our membership with the ability to have inter provincial discussions between building inspectors to discuss interpretations of common problems.
MBOA has approximately 225 members primarily representing local government Building Officials and those involved in building design, construction, testing and research. A growing organization with representation from various regions throughout the province, our members hold diverse backgrounds and occupations such as Building Inspectors, Architects, Engineers, Engineering Technologists, Plan Examiners, Insurance Underwriters, and Fire Prevention officers, just to name a few.
In support of the principles of individual integrity and professional capability, MBOA has developed a Code of Ethics for members.
Manitoba Building Officials Association (MBOA) supports members by promoting building safety and performance through professional training, public awareness, and partnering with regulatory bodies to advance codes and standards.
Provincial legislation and the Manitoba Building Code are vital and help ensure Manitobans enjoy safe and healthy buildings in which they can live, work and play. Manitoba Building Officials are responsible to ensure building regulations are followed so communities are safe, accessibility is available, and accidents are avoided.
